The leaf is so fragile - but beautiful and resilient too.
ReplyDeleteAgree.
DeleteWe are not going to get through life without a few scratches and inconvenience of our way. It make us stronger and more caring too, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteAll that bit about what doesn't kill us makes us stronger (fighters) is quite correct, methinks.
DeleteAnd a leaf is all the more beautiful. What a little, shiny gem the poem is!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sumana!
DeleteA leaf collection or a collection of "leaves" things left behind. Gathered together. With a big enough collection you could create an entire tree. (Perhaps a family tree?) I've always loved that the leaf is what provides the energy for the tree to survive, but the tree sloughs them off each fall and still survives.
ReplyDeleteA collection of memories, always growing into more...
DeleteBeautiful, collecting leaves and all their stories.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sherry.
DeleteLeaves...the lifeblood of trees putting its energy to work...I like that you kept that special leaf. May it always remind you of the strength you have within and of you unique beauty
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Toni.
DeleteThe Doctor Who quote is a wonderful springboard for your words, Magaly, and you’ve given it depth, breadth, and the richness of tears and scratches! A beautiful metaphor for you!
ReplyDeleteScratches are just stories with depth. :-)
DeleteWonderful!
ReplyDeleteGracias!
DeleteA lovely cherita

DeleteOh this touched me to the absolute core, Magaly!!💖💖 Your love for nature and everything that it represents shines through in this poem. How lovely it must be to have a leaf collection 😍😍
ReplyDeleteThank you for your loving comment on my poem! I enjoyed writing to your prompt!!💖💖
Thank you, Sanaa.
DeleteMagaly, I love that you collect leaves, and this one is so lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteIt's hard to be a living thing without picking up a few scratches and tears along the way. But if we are lucky we get some good stories to go along with life's abrasions.
ReplyDeleteAnd we refuse not to be lucky!
DeleteFine, indeed! It's good to be reminded. I forgot all my hobbies, but now and then run across leaves tucked into books in days gone by. I love that.
ReplyDeleteEvery memory a smile...
Delete"rich

And aesthetically, I adore the colour and texture of the leaf against that glorious red and black backdrop!
Thank you!
DeleteA leaf tells a powerful story of resilience.
ReplyDeleteYes, it does.
DeleteThe leaf, floating to somewhere, snagged by a sharp thorn on the red of a rosebush. It has a tale to tell now that it is rescued.
ReplyDeleteRescued and loved.
DeleteLeaves and trees represent life wonderfully! This is deep and lovely Magaly! 😍
ReplyDeleteThank you, Carrie.
DeleteI love that the leaf is imperfect, yet still here.
ReplyDeleteLike most of us...
DeleteBeautiful poem and photo. By its wounds and scars, that leaf has survived alot! Fragile, yet strong, and still beautiful.
ReplyDeleteShe's a survival!
DeleteThis is beautiful and so meaningful! Big Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Stacy.
DeleteAnd hugs to you, too. :-)
