Shadows can’t be without light… just like me. Without you, twisting my limbs in our secret garden of little deaths, I can’t find the Self that makes Me. In the Solstice of my tale, you are Sun—new growth, old blaze, life… I know you fear full night. I taste the truth in words you touch to my lips, in caresses you banter to keep, in every rebel gasp my voice rips out of that bit of your mind you’ve wished didn’t whole who you are…

secret garden of little deaths - wow..that's vivid!
ReplyDeleteThank you, ma'am.
DeleteHow beautiful! And how loving. And it's a perfect Solstice piece – for either Solstice, come to think of it, and either Equinox too.
ReplyDeleteA bit of love for all the seasons. Yay! I like that.
DeleteWell done, MG. Haibunilicious!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ron.

ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday

That it does.
DeleteAnyone who can balance brightness and darkness has my vote of confidence. Happy 2020 to you, Magaly!
ReplyDeleteThe search for balance between opposites seems to be at the core of the human condition. Well, of most humans' conditions (there are always extremely "special" cases *cough*).
DeleteMay your 2020 be glorious, MMT!
I smiled when I read this, thinking of my husband. His night owl self is curled up in bed while I the early bird am contemplating what my second cup of tea this morning will be. We are opposites in many, many ways. But that balance (seasoned with lots of conversation and work) nourishes us. I would not have it any other way.
ReplyDeleteI just laughed. You see, my Piano Man is "curled up in bed" and I read and sip my (first cup of) coffee. And like you and your love, we fit. And fit even better after sharing and caring.
DeleteThe heart of your twilight, I like that!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Colleen.
DeleteIn the end it all comes down to the perfect balance doesn't it?❤️ Exquisite write, Magaly dearest 😍😍
ReplyDeleteOne can hope!
DeleteAn incredibly scrumptious and loving tale of knowing someone so well, sharing an inner space and wanting to show them - to be - the beauty at the heart of their fears. Really lovely!
ReplyDeleteThank you, H.
