When All Else Fails, I Garden

Soothing magic grows
in the blush of strawberries,
the gift of rain, a pretty mushroom.

Aggravation spreads
when souls forget what matters—
fresh soil, random smiles, happiness shared.

Plant some good.

  1. A dear friend of mine is going through a tough time ... I am going to copy and share with her. If it impacts her as it did me .... good medicine.

  2. The sweetness definitely comes through. It is a very pretty mushroom. It looks like an umbrella. I think there may be a few happy sprites in your garden.

  3. How lovely! Of course, it might kill you if you eat it. Life is quirky like that, isn't it.

  4. Now that is one stunning mushroom!!💝 Sometimes we need to remind ourselves what matters more if we are to get our souls (and heads on) straight. Thank you for the glorious prompt!😘

  5. May we always remember the good, and if we happen to forget, may the road to remembering be short. And may we always look into our own pockets for those little seeds of good we keep tucked away, and sow them widely.

  7. You obviously garden to some purpose! I am not one of the many who love it, but I do love spending time in gardens.

  8. Gardening is great in these isolating times. Mrs. Jim seems to care more for our back yard things since all this. You told it well, Magaly, there really isn't to much else, especially outside. Walk perhaps, we do that but stay on the city sidewalks because the green area walks are crowded and the folk don't like to get off the path to pass.
I always like to see how the prompt generator handles his/her idea. You did a very nice one.

    1. If we have to spend so much time in a particular space, we might as well make it as wonderful as we can. Mrs. Jim is wise. But you already knew that.

  9. Yes, dirt under my nails and the joy of being surrounded by growing things certainly helps me these days.

    1. When so much is dying, seeing that so much can also grow is a great reminder.

    2. And we plant stuff we can eat, the process also tastes good. :-)

  10. Natural, practical magic is the best remedy. I’m enjoying ‘fresh soil’ and ‘random smiles’ too, watching veg grow in pots outside the back door. Nothing much thrives in the ground here, except the willow, brambles and nettles, because it is too wet, but I hope to invest in some raised beds – and they will keep the deer away from my courgettes!

    1. Raised beds are so fun to garden in! Not only because they are good on your back, but also because they look like you have green (and flowery, too) bouquets everywhere. Can't wait to see what you grow!

  11. What a great mushroom! I have been busy planting as well. I have my usual lavender, rosemary, basil, oregano, and parsley. I tried spinach but the dog seems to have a fondness for it.

  12. I cannot garden, too many critters eat my stuff. But I will garden in my mind and sow random seeds of good and smiles and love.
