All right, so Rommy might’ve said it differently, but that is what I heard. My answer? Well… who hasn’t!The first thing that comes to mind—when the topic of unwanted change bursts into the room—is poetry. I couldn’t stand it (things have changed a bit). On a fresher front, I’ve been drawing (since certain cognitive psychologist keeps reminding me that drawing and writing exercise different parts of the brain and doing both is best). I’m not terribly skilled at the art of making pictures that aren’t made of words. At the risk of committing cliche on the first degree, I shall say that the fall is never as important as the getting up and kicking. And we are great kickers, aren't we?

DeleteLol, i so love "the moment my brain grows some abs".......i just had an MRI, they checked to see if anybody's home in my brain.......as they asked me my address, and i totally forgot it, it isnt looking good. Cackle.
ReplyDeleteOnce, they asked me my name right before radiation, and for some reason only the universe knows, I gave them my grandmother's name. There was much cackling.
DeleteYou poem made me think of that saying - "It's not how many times we fall but in how many times we get up after we fall" You can't keep a good thing down that's for sure. I love the art. I can see the smile and found myself gazing into a galaxy of the eye. All the twisting and turning leading to something beautiful.

DeleteBwahahahahahahhahahahaha! Sometimes stubbornness is the only thing that gets me through. I can recall gritting my teeth in the home stretch of a project that I wanted to abandon, and muttering, "I'm only finishing because I said I would."

DeleteBrain abs...I'm going to be stuck on that image for a little while. :) I love the image (and its title) and the poem. I'm a stubborn never-again-will-I-do-this and I could--sometimes--use stubbornness in the opposite direction.

DeleteGosh, I love your picture-not-made-of-words. And the words too. Stubbornness, otherwise known as determination and/or a can-do attitude, is very important. A very determined friend, who has been healing herself demonstrably from things the doctors said would kill her seven years ago, has been drumming that into me all weekend to try and ensure I take the best possible care of my own health and don't risk descending into dementia or frailty. She is such a shining example, I have to see the point. And if I were to forget ... I also have your example!
