Flesh, Bones, Soul

I like multiples
of three—
brain, tongue, hand:

mind-love my flesh,

speak to my bones,
caress my soul.

Fresh, ripe, whole…
I’ll give you me,
times three.

  2. Three is indeed a magic number, Magaly, and your poem is magical too. I love the phrase ‘mind-love my flesh’ and the way you offer yourself ‘Fresh, ripe, whole…’

  5. This was eerie. Maybe it was the image following, but those words just slid around and kept whispering...

    1. It felt eerie to write. There was something in the promise offered in the last stanza. It made me feel like the speaker was promising anything--great and terrible.

  8. This is so poignant!😍 Your poem reminded me of a quote by Tarryn Fisher who states; "How odd to be made of flesh, balanced on bone, and filled with a soul you’ve never met."💝

  12. Oh the delightful magic that unfolds when we love each other where we are at, honestly and with no expectations of them being other than themselves.
