“To know the dark, go dark. Go without sight,
and find that the dark, too, blooms and sings,
and is traveled by dark feet and dark wings.”
~ Wendell Berry ~
Yes, the world
is
dark and cold right now (for
those of us in the Northern Hemisphere). Still, let’s not forget that wonders
grow in the dark too. We should really keep that wee bit in mind when Old Man Winter
is getting extra creative with our neuropathy, arthritis, and all those other
not-so-yummy things that come with growing delightfully
vintage.
Happiest Winter Solstice, everyone!
Much precious growth occurs in darkness, and cozy nights' sleep too. Winter Solstice blessings to you, dear Magaly!
ReplyDeleteMmm... cozy nights' sleep sounds like just the thing.
DeleteIn darkness, if possible. 😁
DeleteCuddled under a down comforter, in a coolish bedroom, on the longest night of the year ~~ yes! Sending greetings of joy and good cheer ~~~~
ReplyDeleteThat sounds yummy! And may the joy and good cheer cuddle with us both.
DeleteI just refollowed as I am obviously not getting any updates for this blog! Waves hi!
ReplyDeleteBlogger works in mysterious ways...
Delete*Waves hellow!*
Blessed Yule to you and yours. And may the coming season cover you with a gentle blanket of peace and delight XXX
ReplyDeleteI want that blanket!
DeleteI am encouraged by the light and the cheerful wishes of others. I read this line in someone's poem recently and it has really stuck with me 'let's not call it darkness. Darkness is fertile.' I think the dark is rich and comforting. Wishing you all the best, Magaly!
ReplyDeleteThe dark can be a very nice companion, if we let it.
DeleteAnd I, too, share your feelings about the "cheerful wishes of others." They feel like soul food.
Oh dear. No words. Sometimes that happens. Just letting you know I was here. Hope you have a happy heart and many blessings to you and yours. xo
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's good to see you here. Always.
DeleteHappy Holidays and cheers to growing delightfully vintage. We need both dark & light to maintain balance.
ReplyDeleteYes, we do!
DeleteHappy days to you my friend. Blessings all around.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Blessings right back at you.
