Rekindling

Today is for relighting banked flames, reviving gone dreams, taking stagnant feels and rousing them anew. Yesterday made the same wish, but body and soul were low on strength and drive; healing is draining business. Now remains out of balance—too little time, too much pain—still, now also sings of things I used to enjoy doing (and of different ways of doing them with love and will).

rekindle:
to remind hurt flesh
wild spirits can heal

 - someone asked if I could turn this Instagram post’s caption into prose poetry. So, I made it a haibun. I enjoyed it so much, that I will probably do it again… and again.

  1. healing is draining business... I really felt that post-surgery. Here's to wild spirits healing well and fast in the new year! And muses waiting patiently meanwhile.

  4. There is harmony in your creation. It works the way a healthy body does, fluently, without much ado. Recovering from an injury, I attempt familiar moves in ways that hurt and seem new. Healing can certainly be draining and we need the wild spirits to help see us through. :)

  7. Good intents, we all have some. Mine are to clean out the garage and my "office", get the Mustangs (cars) behave, and work harder on the freeze damage. I should but won't cut down on blog writing an work on a book.

    1. I am all the time breaking my rule for the GI students when I taught typing in the Army. Proofread, proofread, proofread!
My excuse is that most of my blogging now is done on my old Galaxy S8 and it's slow, also my work might fly away if I go back up.

Opulently visual!! Some of the phrases that touch me are

"...relighting banked flames reviving gone dreams, taking stagnant feels and rousing them anew..."
"...healing is draining business..." Both mentally as well as physically.
